Over the last 40 years, the evidence that human activities are adversely changing the climate has become unequivocal.
There is near unanimity among domain experts that the earth’s climate is being altered by emissions of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and other Greenhouse Gases (GHGs), mainly from the burning of fossil fuels.
Even so, the economic and political implications of climate change policy responses (mitigation and adaptation) at national and global levels have created an environment of rhetorical adversity in which misinformation and disinformation spread by climate denialists abounds.
To help debunk the climate misinformation, AfriSMC has created this microsite to act as repository of credible climate messages. The center will also run a series of climate change information, educational and communication programs aimed at debunking the myths surrounding climate disinformation to reduce climate misconceptions and skepticism in Africa.
